Join us July 3rd at Klopfenstein Ampitheater in Lowe Park for the City of Marion’s Independence Day celebration, Fireworks & Fireflies. The event is free, open to the public, and we’re proud to say it’s presented by Hanna Plumbing & Heating!
Starting at 6PM, enjoy live music by The Bamboozlers, food from local food trucks, and family-friendly activities such as face painting and balloon art. Then at dusk, enjoy a beautiful professional fireworks display on the lawn.
Before you show up, make sure you bring the following items so you can enjoy a stress-free, family friendly summer experience.
Packing List
☐ Lawn Chairs – A must-have at any outdoor event. Grab your chair, kick back, and enjoy the show.
☐ Sunscreen – Fireworks & Fireflies takes place in the evening, but the sun will still be shining until dusk (around 8:45PM). Protect your skin while you’re enjoying the summer heat by bringing a bottle—you can never be too careful!
☐ Bug Spray – Mosquitos are an unfortunate side effect of summer, especially as the sun begins to set. Using bug spray can mean the difference between an enjoyable night or an uncomfortable one.
☐ Blankets – Spread a picnic blanket on the lawn and enjoy dinner or lay back and watch the display from the ground!
☐ Warm Clothes – Although we’re in the middle of summer, it can get chilly at night—especially for the little ones. Be sure to pack an extra sweatshirt or a long sleeved shirt to stay warm.
☐ Ear Plugs – Ear plugs can be useful for those sensitive to loud noises. You’ll still enjoy the sounds, but at a much more manageable level.
☐ Food & Beverages – Food trucks will onsite throughout the evening, but you’re also welcome to bring your own (including alcoholic beverages). Just don’t forget to also grab a cooler!
Don’t Pack List
☒ Pets – We love our animals, but please leave them at home. Fireworks are loud and can cause them extreme panic, stress and anxiety.
☒ Sparklers & Fireworks – Please don’t bring sparklers, fireworks or any other flammable items. There will be plenty of other activities to enjoy at Fireworks & Fireflies!
