Delta in Eastern Iowa

Diamond-hard valves and touch faucets — with hard-water fine print worth knowing.

Delta pairs solid mechanicals with the most useful kitchen tech in the category: DIAMOND Seal valves (a diamond-coated ceramic disc rated for millions of uses), Touch2O tap-to-run faucets and MagnaTite docking spray heads. We install and service the full residential line — and we'll tell you up front how to keep Marion's water from voiding the fine print.

The company

Who makes it

Delta Faucet Company, founded in 1954 and headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, is the flagship plumbing brand of Masco Corporation — one of the largest home-improvement product groups in the world.

What we install from Delta

DIAMOND Seal Technology

A ceramic disc valve embedded with real diamonds, rated by Delta to last up to twice the industry standard — the moving part that decides whether a faucet drips in year three or year twenty.

Touch2O & MagnaTite

Tap the spout or handle with a wrist to start the water (huge with flour-covered hands), and a magnetic dock that keeps the pull-down wand seated instead of drooping.

H2Okinetic showers

Shower heads that sculpt water into a wave pattern for a fuller feel at lower flow — comfort without wasting hot water your heater worked for.

Delta × Eastern Iowa

Why the local water changes the answer

Delta's warranty explicitly does not cover hard-water and mineral-deposit damage — and Marion's 18–20 grain supply produces exactly that. Delta's own care guidance for scale is a 50/50 white-vinegar-and-water soak (never harsh acids or abrasive cleaners, which wreck the finish). Softened water sidesteps the whole problem; where the city softens, as in Cedar Rapids, Delta finishes hold up beautifully with basic care.

Your town's number matters

Marion runs 18–20 grains per gallon; Cedar Rapids softens at the plant; the well towns are test-first. We compiled the verified hardness for all 15 towns we serve.

Warranty & workmanship

What the warranty actually says

Manufacturer coverage

Delta backs residential faucets with a Limited Lifetime Warranty on parts and finish for the original owner (electronics like Touch2O modules carry 5 years). Two things to know: the warranty excludes damage from hard water and mineral deposits, and it excludes damage from improper installation — both very relevant in Eastern Iowa.

Why a pro install protects it

Delta recommends professional installation and voids coverage for damage from an improper install. Touch2O faucets add low-voltage electronics under the sink, and supply connections that seep slowly are the classic DIY miss that shows up months later as a ruined cabinet floor. Warranty covers parts — never the labor or the cabinet.

Good questions

Answers before you call.

Still wondering about something specific? We’re happy to talk it through — no obligation.

Does Delta's lifetime warranty cover hard-water damage?

No — Delta's warranty explicitly excludes damage from hard water and mineral deposits. In very-hard towns like Marion that exclusion matters: regular gentle descaling (Delta suggests a 50/50 white vinegar soak) or a water softener is what keeps a Delta faucet out of that fine print.

Are Touch2O faucets reliable, or a gimmick?

They're reliable — the touch electronics carry their own 5-year warranty and run on batteries or a plug-in power adapter. We install them regularly in kitchens; the honest caveat is they add components, so a correct, dry, accessible install under the sink matters more than with a plain faucet.

Which is better — Delta, Moen or Kohler?

All three are brands we're happy to put our name behind; they differ in feel and features more than quality. Delta leads on kitchen tech (Touch2O), Moen on long-term serviceability, Kohler on range and design depth. We'll give you a straight recommendation for your specific kitchen or bath.
