Why the local water changes the answer
Here's the trap: unlike Delta, Grohe explicitly forbids vinegar and acetic-acid cleaners on its finishes — the standard DIY descaling trick will dull a StarLight finish and void the finish warranty. Grohe's guidance is to wipe fittings dry after use and treat scale with mild soap or Grohe's own GrohClean. On Marion's 18–20 grain water, realistically, a premium Grohe fitting deserves softened water; that's the honest prerequisite we flag before speccing it.

Grohe's US residential warranty runs to a limited lifetime on mechanical parts and premium finishes (5 years on electronic components; shorter terms for commercial use). Coverage excludes faulty installation, repairs by unqualified persons, and — notably — finish damage from aggressive cleaners. Non-genuine spare parts void it entirely.

Can I clean a Grohe faucet with vinegar like my other fixtures?
No — Grohe specifically warns against vinegar and acetic-acid cleaners, which dull the StarLight finish and void the finish warranty. Wipe Grohe fittings dry after use, and treat any scale with mild soap or Grohe's GrohClean. Better yet: on very hard water like Marion's, soften the supply so scale never forms.
Is Grohe worth the premium over Delta or Moen?
For the right project, yes — the cartridge feel, thermostatic shower control and finish quality are genuinely a step up. For a rental or a budget refresh, we'll steer you honestly toward Delta or Moen. The mechanics of all three are solid; Grohe is about feel and finish.
Do you service existing Grohe fixtures?
Yes — including the European-pattern valves and thermostatic cartridges that generalist handymen often won't touch. Genuine parts matter here: Grohe's warranty is void with non-original components.
